Ryan Bisel 

Senior Associate Attorney

Ryan Bisel was born and raised on the Big Island of Hawai’i. He was a 2008 graduate of Ernest Bowen de Silva Elementary School, a 2010 graduate of Hilo Intermediate School, and a 2014 graduate of Hilo High School.

Thereafter, Ryan attended the University of Hawai’i at Manoa where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance and graduated cum laude in 2018. He then moved to Seattle, Washington in the summer of 2018 to begin his law school career at Seattle University School of Law. Ryan earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Seattle University in 2021.

After law school, Ryan passed the Washington State Bar Exam in 2021 and passed the Hawai’i State Bar Exam in 2022. After passing both bar exams, Ryan began his career at Lether Law Group in April 2022.

Ryan regularly represents clients on an assigned defense or coverage counsel basis in Hawai’i and Washington state and federal courts. His practice includes construction defect litigation and insurance coverage litigation of first and third-party claims/disputes involving contractual and extra-contractual claims. Notably, Ryan worked as assigned defense counsel for an insured involved in the largest construction defect claim in the history of the state of Hawai’i. He also provided pro bono legal services to assist individuals/local Hawai’i residents affected by the August 2023 wildfires in Lāhainā, Hawai’i.

As a local Hawai’i boy, Ryan spends most of his free time outdoors doing his favorite activities like spearfishing, hiking, camping, golfing, and swimming.
