Sam Wiener is a legal intern in Lether Law Group's Hawaiʻi office, where he supports the firm's insurance coverage and insurance-related litigation practice. He works alongside the firm's attorneys on first-party and third-party coverage matters, policy analysis, and civil disputes. Sam is a third-year student at the University of Hawaiʻi William S. Richardson School of Law, where he served as Vice President of the Student Bar Association and has held seats on four separate student organization executive boards. He will graduate in Spring 2027 and sit for the Hawaiʻi bar examination that July.

Before law school, Sam spent roughly seven years as a licensed public insurance adjuster, handling first-party property claims from the initial inspection through appraisal and litigation, and he was qualified as a damages expert witness in Florida circuit court. His undergraduate background is in aerospace, and he holds an FAA Airframe and Powerplant mechanic certification. He also previously worked as an engineering technician in the amusement park industry. That combination of claims, technical, and mechanical experience gives him a strong understanding of how losses occur, how they are documented, and how coverage disputes are resolved, which he now brings to the legal side of the same questions.

During law school, Sam has externed for Judge Ashford and Judge Nichols of the Circuit Court of the First Circuit, State of Hawaiʻi (Oʻahu), working on foreclosure and complex civil dockets respectively. He has also worked as a summer associate and law clerk on insurance coverage, subrogation, construction, and commercial litigation matters throughout Hawaiʻi, including mass torts, wildfire and property-loss subrogation.
